Cats in the garden combines two things I love... and what could be more perfect? However, I found after doing a search for "cats in garden" that some people do not like cats in their garden!
I guess when it comes to having cats in the garden the important discriminating factor is whether they are your cats or the neighbors...and what they are doing in there!
Our two cats (Sadie & Abby) are always welcome in our garden of course. It does need to be said that our cats are strictly house cats. They are trained to go outdoors with us and stay in the yard (for the most part). We found both of our girls at PetSmart, who partners with the humane society to adopt out cats in need of homes. |

Growing up my dad was the gardener in the family. He had a green thumb particularly for tomatoes, cucumbers, and the lawn. He seemed to enjoy his time best when alone tending to the vegtables.
While I remember being in the garden with him on occassion, it was mainly listening to his explaination of how deep a hole should be dug to plant a tomato and how wide a ridge should be around it to hold in water. I don't recall being asked to help. But, I can understand him enjoying his garden alone after a long days work as I myself appreciate the peace and quiet to be found when in the garden alone...
